Orchard's Scholarship for Women of Color in STEM
In May 2023, Orchard announced the winners of Orchard’s second annual scholarship for women of color in STEM. Jessica Ong from San Diego, CA, An Li from El Paso, TX, and Ailsa Sun from Castro Valley, CA received scholarships of $2,500, $1,000, and $500 respectively.
The Fall 2023 scholarship, available for current undergraduate students, opened on September 1st, 2023 and is currently underway.
At this time, further scholarships, including the Spring 2024 scholarship for current high school seniors, has been put on pause.
This scholarship is available to women of color who are currently pursuing an undergraduate STEM degree.
The deadline for current undergraduate students was December 31, 2023.
To apply, please submit a transcript and one short essay (400-800 words) addressing the following question:
What inspired you to pursue STEM and what do you hope to achieve in your career?

The deadline for current undergraduate students is 11:59 PM EST, December 31, 2023.
Orchard will award three scholarships in the Fall of 2023. The scholarships will be in the following amounts: $2,500, $1,000, and $500.
Undergraduate scholarship finalists will be selected and notified the last week of February 2024. An official announcement will be shared once all recipients have accepted their awards.
